Firsthand began out of a desire to make clean AND high performing hair and body care products. Our first formula was a hair styling product that we made for ourselves and. itset the bar for everything else we make today. We formulate AND manufacture everything under one roof just north of Boston Massachusetts.
We're also design obsessed and place a heavy emphasis on making our products as beautiful as possible while incorporating innovative formats wherever we can. To that end, we've been able to develop our entire line to be packaed in containers made from 100% post consumer recycled plastics.
How's that for beauty with a purpose?
Yes, our formulas are fully tested and compliant in both the EU and Japan—both of whom boast the strictest cosmetic compliance rules in the world.
Our Shampoo was formulated to clean the hair without stripping out too much of the good oils (aka sebum) that makes your hair feel natural and healthy. The shampoo is packed with a decent amount of humectants to draw in and maintain moisture, but has adequate enough, and gentle, cleansers to make sure the hair is cleaned.
The Conditioner is a a borderline mask. Unlike many conditioners that can be runny or skew too greasy, our conditioner is a thick and rich cream that coats the hair in a delicious hydration bath that will keep your folicles healthy and hair (and it feels incredible to use!).
All products are scented using gender‑neutral premium fragrances. The fragrance is made using proprietary essential oil blends that we've developed in-house.
Our hair stylers, shampoo, conditioner, and hand soap are scented using the same blend of essential oils which consist of Lavender, Bergamot, Juniper Berry, Palo Santo, and Worm Wood. The will smell slightly different based on the other ingredients in the formula. The scent is best described as "citrusy, herbal and floral with light woodsy notes and a fresh finish."
Our Hair Oil is scented using Lavender, Frankincense, and Ylang ylang and is best described as "bright and complex, with a spice-forward aroma and floral notes."
Our Body Cleanser and Body Lotion are both scented using Lavender, Vetiver, and Ho Wood essential oils and is best described as "A complex blend of rich florals and woodsy, earthy base notes."
We have a secondary bottle that we can do collaborative custom designs on. Lead time is approximately 4‑6 weeks after artwork approval.

We don't require Minimum Order Quantities. We sell products individually or in Cases of 12. However, there is a pricing break when purchasing Cases. Our Case Packs sell for 50% off of MSRP while individual units sell for 40% off MSRP.

At the top of the page you should see a link that says "Shop". Click this link and you'll be brought. tothe site's home page. Once there, hover over the link that says "Shop" in the upper-lefthand corner and you should see a dropdown with the collection that you can shop.
Once you're in the collection you can add products directly to your cart from that screen just as you would any ecommerce website. Once you're ready to check out, click on your cart and follow the prompts. to check out—again, as you would on any ecommerce site.

After you place your order the order will enter our fulfillment queue. Orders ship within 24-48 hours of being placed M-F. Any order shipped after 12pm ET Friday will ship the following Monday.
